Summer School Information Page


All students, grades 9-12, with “F” grades should be enrolled into iHigh summer school courses. 

  • Summer School for 2020 will be taking place virtually using district-issued Chromebooks and Edgenuity online courses.

  • Students will complete all work at home and will not be reporting to a school site.

  • Counselors will automatically enroll any students who have an “F” on their transcript into summer school.

  • A summer school online registration and opt-out form will be sent to all enrolled students on May 21st.

  • Students will begin courses on Monday, June 22nd.

  • Information for device distribution and online courses access will be sent later this month.


  • If your child previously requested to take summer school at a school site, they will automatically be enrolled into an online course.

  • If your child DID NOT request summer school and would now like the chance to remediate a “D” grade, please have them contact their counselor by May 20th. 

  • If you have questions regarding summer school course offerings, please contact your child’s school counselor


Students who contact their school counselor between May 18th and May 20th asking to remediate a “D” grade should be enrolled into summer school courses by the end of the work day on May 20th


An email will be sent to all enrolled summer school students asking them to complete the online registration/opt-out form in order to complete summer school enrollment. Due date will be May 28th.

Any student who reaches out to their school counselor after May 21st to enroll in summer school, must be sent the online registration form individually by the site counselor. Summer School Online Registration Form

Online registration form responses will be reviewed by the central office counseling team. Sites will receive a list of students who need to be dropped from summer school OR who did not respond. Counselors should reach out to students who did not respond to verify enrollment and drop all opt-out students by June 4th.

SDUSD central office will run a report to identify courses that still have space available. Sites will receive a list of courses that still have seats available. 


Registration: May 30th  - June 4th, students can be tagged by their school counselor and the school counselor will send the link to each student to complete the registration process: Summer School Online Registration Form

  • Summer school numbers and rosters will be finalized by the Summer Counseling Team.


  • ​A message will be sent out from the SDUSD central office to all enrolled students with details on device distribution, how to access their online courses, and other important summer school information.

  • Starting June 8th, students who still need to enroll in summer school will need to contact the summer school counselors. Further details and information will be posted on the Summer School Website.


Summer School Change Form (add or drop). This form is used by counselors to change a course request for a student planning to attend Summer School 2020. This form will be available for counselors UNTIL 6/10/2020.

After 6/10/2020 - Parents/guardians/students should be directed to the Summer School 2020 Website where a registration link will be available.  This link will not be available for parents/students/guardians until 6/11/2020.
