Tips for AP Exam Test Takers!
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Your initials and APID are needed on your docs.

WATCH THE TIME! Start submitting at the 5:00 mark whether you are done or not. It’s better to submit a partial response than run out of time and have to re-take the exam.

Students report that the AP site was “laggy” and had trouble copying/pasting.

INTERNET RELIABILITY. Using the phone as a back-up hot spot for internet saved at least one student.

At least one student found having the textbook there to be helpful.

Students recommend having a Google Doc and the actual exam side by side on the computer.

SDHS Families,

If your student is planning to take an AP exam this year, please be sure to complete and turn in the AP Exam Registration Packet to the Finance Office by November 7th. Any registration after this date will incur a $40 late fee.

2020 AP Exam Registration:

One of the most significant changes for AP this year is that AP exam orders must be submitted in the fall. Please ensure that your students understand what they need to do prior to the November 7th deadline.

Step 1: Students register for their class by October 1st.

Please ensure that your student has registered for their AP class, which was due October 1st. Students need to sign in to My AP using their College Board account to enroll in each class using the unique join code provided by the teacher of each AP class they’re taking.

For a guide that provides students with instructions for joining their class sections, download Joining Your AP Class Section.

Step 2: Students complete the 2020 AP Exam Registration Form by November 7th.

Please ensure that your students complete the 2020 AP Exam Registration Packet and turn that in to the Finance Office with payment by the November 7th deadline.

Step 3: Understand how late fees are applied.

Please ensure that your student understands how the late fees apply. Students will be charged a $40 per exam fee for any registration after the November 7th deadline. The very last day to order an exam is March 13, 2020. No exams will be ordered after that date.

Please encourage your student to speak with their school counselor if they have any questions regarding the registration process, exam fees, fee waivers or other AP exam questions.

Thank you!
